How to Buy E-Juice
If you’ve decided to switch from smoking to vaping, good for you. But don’t be overwhelmed by the large variety of e-juices today. If you take things slow, you’ll eventually end up with something you really like.
Here are things to consider when buying e-juice:Below are considerations to make when you buy e-juice:Consider the following as you buy e-juice:
Know what flavors are there.
First and foremost, the flavor. Even if you get everything else right – nicotine strength, vapor production, etc. What’s great s that e-liquids are available in almost any flavor imaginable, from gum to fruit and more. When deciding on e-liquid flavors, start with those that you’re sure you’ll be happy with, before experimenting with the others.
Know your nicotine level.
After you’ve picked your flavor, the next step is to pick your nicotine strength. Are you a light, medium or heavy smoker?Do you consider yourself a light smoker, a heavy smoker or somewhere in between?Would you think of yourself as a light smoker or a heavy smoker, or somewhere in the middle? You have to get the right nicotine strength or you might compensate by vaping more if you get too little, or end up with headaches if you get too much. To start, go wtih medium strength and then adjust accordingly.
Propylene Glycol (PG) or Vegetable Glycol (VG) or Both?
The main base solution in e-juice can be Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerol (VG), or a mix of both. PG offers a stronger flavor but a weaker vapor. VG is more condensed and is a bit sweet in taste, causing it to mute the flavor to an extent, but it can produce large clouds of vapor. Because of the marked differences between the two, e-juice makers have products that are all-PG, all-VG base, and mixtures in varying ratios.
Try, Try, Try!
If possible, and in most cases it is, always test flavors before you pay for them. Various brands can leave different tastes on your tongue, even if they are supposed to be one and the same flavor. The same goes for nicotine strength, so always give it a test drive. A certain brand’s 10mg strength may be right for you, but it could be too strong or too weak for another brand.
Buying from a brick and mortar store, you will likely be able to test the different products. Online vape stores though are somewhat different. You can still test flavors, but you can only do so if you order special “tester” packs. These are often available in sets of different flavors, and you can have a pack of 5 flavors, 10 flavors or even 20. Aside from flavors, you can also test nicotine strengths as you try to find the right combo for you.
